Our Middle (Year 7-9) & Senior (Year 10-12) students are involved in the South East Colleges Associations (SECA) competitions, where we compete in Swimming / Cross Country and Athletics carnivals throughout the year. Our students also compete in a Northside SECA competition as our interschool midweek sports program.

This midweek Sport program is compulsory for all students, the program provides a wide range of choices for participation. Competition is played on Tuesday during school times and runs in Term 2 (Season 1) and Term 3 (Season 2). Students from Year 7 to 10 must wear their Sports' uniforms on each Tuesday throughout the year.

Sports offered at St Eugene include:

  • Volleyball
  • 5-a side soccer
  • Rugby League
  • Netball
  • Touch Football
  • Oz-Tag
  • Soccer
  • Basketball
  • Chess
  • Theatre Sports
  • AFL (Gala Day)
  • Futsal (Gala Day)

Students of all abilities are encouraged to compete in at least one sport. The elements of participation, fun, the pursuit of skill excellence and teamwork are the primary goals of the sporting program.

We will continue to build our performances at extra sporting competitions such as CBSQ (Champion Basketball School of Queensland), Vicki Wilson Cup (Netball), All Schools OZ-Tag and NRL Gala days.

Students also have the opportunity to grow their individual skills through our Spirits Sports Academy, in Netball, Basketball and Rugby league.

We also continue to support students through the pathway for elite competitors to pursue district, regional, State and National level school representation.
